Cleaning Tips – Guide In Cleaning Your Coffee Maker

coffee maker

You can significantly improve the taste of the coffee you are brewing in your coffee maker if you clean this nifty machine regularly. If you are a heavy coffee drinker and you have one of those large coffee makers that make 8 and above cups of coffee, you might want to clean your brewer two times a week.

It should be as easy as cleaning your glass vases.

Here are the steps to follow

Step 1: If you have just finished using your coffee maker, let it cool down. Unplug the coffee machine and remove the filter and used ground coffee.

Step 2: Fill up the water receptacle with combination of baking soda and distilled white vinegar.

Step 3: Put a fresh new filter to it so the machine will work.

Step 4: Set up the functions to the usual brew functions. The vinegar and baking soda solution will help dissolve the molds and mildew inside.

Step 5: Let the coffee pot catch dirt inside the machine. Run the cycle again if the collected water is a bit murky.

Step 6: The last cycle should be clean water only. This will wash out the vinegar residues inside.

Step 7: Remove the detachable parts such as the water receptacle and coffee receptacle. If you have a built-in coffee filter, you need to remove it too to get rid of the collected debris.

Step 8: Wash the detached parts in soapy water. Rinse them and let them dry completely.

Step 9: While waiting for the detached parts to dry up, get a clean rag and then moisten it with soapy water. Use this to wipe the exterior of the machine.

Step 10: If there are stains that are hard to remove, try wiping them with the vinegar and baking soda solution. This should get rid of the coffee stains.
