The first sensations with the new iPhone 11 Pro are very similar to those that you may have had with the iPhone X or with the iPhone XS. Apple has continued to bet on a known design by adding some distinctive touches that slightly improve the design.
It is an iPhone and the quality of both materials and construction are beyond doubt and just hold it in your hand you realize that you are facing a premium device. However, you still have that feeling that you are facing an old acquaintance.
What I Liked About The iPhone 11 Pro
The three new cameras of the iPhone 11 make it an ideal device to use as the main camera in most cases, and I say it from experience.
These are the cameras that the iPhone 11 Pro has:
- Ultra wide angle: 12 Mpx sensor with a 120 ° field of view, a focal length of 13 mm and ƒ / 2.4 aperture in a five-element lens.
- Wide Angle: Main 12 Mpx camera with 100% Focus Pixels, optical stabilization, 26 mm focal length and ƒ / 1.8 aperture on a 6-element lens.
- Telephoto lens: 12 Mpx camera with 2x optical zoom, optical stabilization, 52 mm focal length and ƒ / 2 aperture on a 6-element lens
It is precisely the versatility that makes the iPhone cameras so special, you can get a good picture whatever the situation. If you need to get close, you have the 2x telephoto lens, but if you want a larger scene to come out, the ultra-wide angle comes into action. If the light is low the night mode will help you get a good snapshot and in broad daylight the quality of the sensors is beyond doubt.
Another of the points that I liked most about the new iPhone 11 Pro is the battery, the 4 hours that Apple promises more than the iPhone XS are noticed from day one. Despite making a very intense use of the device with GPS, social networks and much, much camera, the iPhone 11 Pro arrived at the end of the day without problems.
I had days in which I exceeded 7 hours of screen on and the iPhone 11 Pro had not yet turned off. If you are interested in buying a new iPhone and the battery is something important for you, do not doubt that the new iPhone 11 is perfect.
The iPhone 11 Pro has the same screen size and technology as the iPhone X, a 5.8-inch OLED panel. Although it is true that the Max model gives us the option of a larger screen, there are also appreciable differences between these two screens.
These are panels with two years of difference, something that gives the iPhone 11 Pro a lot of advantage. The new Super Retina XDR OLED screen of the new iPhone has more brightness, up to 1,200 nits, better contrast 2,000,000: 1 and consumes less than the previous ones. An exaggerated difference will not be noticed, but the new panel promises a lot.
Apple processors always stand out for their power and the A11 Bionic remains an excellent processor today, however, the performance of the A13 Bionic is well above. This will allow the new iPhone 11 to use a new computational photography technology with which the iPhone X processor cannot compete.
What I liked Least About The iPhone 11 Pro
The probably the biggest “defect” of the iPhone 11 Pro, the notch is still there, invariable, and it’s already 3 years. It is not annoying but we have seen better solutions in competing devices, it is true that none have a Face ID recognition system, but after three models we all expected at least a reduction in size.
IOS 13 bugs
The main version of iOS 13 with which the iPhone 11 Pro arrived had several annoying errors, one of them in the camera application, a lot of the ones I have used the most. Most of these bugs have already been fixed, but for several days the experience was not perfect, something you appreciate even more when you are releasing a device.
The iPhone 11 Pro is without a doubt one of the best smartphones you can buy today, the best if you want iOS as an operating system. It is true that the normal model shares many of the Pro model options at a more affordable price, but if you need a powerful, balanced device with a large battery and incredible cameras, the iPhone 11 Pro is designed for you.
If you have an iPhone X you will know that performance is not worth buying yet a new iPhone 11 Pro, your device is still working as the first day. However, if there are some aspects that are important to you, it may be worth the jump.
If you are one of those without a camera and use the iPhone for everything, the new iPhone 11 is highly recommended. Its three camera system will allow you to take unique photographs that you will not be able to take with the iPhone X, also adding new shooting modes such as Night Mode, which improves one of the main shortcomings of the iPhone X.
We also have to add the great improvement of the battery, if you use the iPhone a lot every day you will also notice a big difference updating to the iPhone 11 Pro. In addition the iPhone X is still selling well in the second-hand market, so you can subsidize part of your new iPhone 11 Pro with what you get from your iPhone X.
